Soft Proofing feature for Our Paint (WIP)


I am preparing Our Paint for v0.4 release, here’s a sneak peek of the soft proofing feature that will come in the next version.

Currently Our Paint uses a 33-dot pre-generated LUT (using LCMS) to do the soft proofing in the shader, at the moment I haven’t decided which CMYK profile exactly to use, some of those profiles have copyrights that are not compatible with GPL. I probably will end up using something in the public domain. However, in principle this feature is already working well now, just small tweaks on the internal and the UI.

I probably will include two rendering intents into this thing, one for absolute (clipping everything outside the gamut) and one for perpetual (scaling into target color space), so extra care needs to be taken on the UI side of things.
